This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. (Isaiah 30:15 NIV84)
LORD! Your greatest work IN us is done when we are sick or have been shut down from exhaustion. In those times you are calling us to be so still and rest. Rather than fight it, striving to get back up to impress others, or even myself with my self-sufficiencies and strength, if I can just get to a place of quiet and trust, then repent and rest; YOU will give me salvation (healing) and strength. HOLY IS YOUR NAME!!
The work you want to do IN us as we recover from whatever plagues our minds and bodies, will show itself THROUGH us when You have restored our strength and once again raised us up!
HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL!! May I rest and trust in You deeply when exhaustion or sickness comes upon me, remembering that You are for me and desire to fill me with your endless, abundant strength!
